President Barack Obama wrapped up a top-dollar West Coast fund-raising junket Tuesday with an economic pitch to the people who dreamed up 'Shrek' and 'Kung Fu Panda.'

'There's a natural connection between me and DreamWorks,' Obama joked to employees of the Glendale, Calif., studio, run by one of his biggest donors, Jeffrey Katzenberg. 'I don't know if you know this, but my ears were one of the inspirations for Shrek.'

Obama's three-day, two-night swing took him from Seattle to San Francisco to the Los Angeles area for a total of seven fund-raisers to benefit Democrats in next year's midterm elections.

The priciest party, held earlier Tuesday at the home of 'Friends' co-creator Marta Kauffman and her composer husband, Michael Skloff, commanded a $32,400 cover.
