Christie isn't focusing only on Latinos or any single group, Martinez says

FREEHOLD - Gov. Chris Christie's push to get out the vote within the state's Latino communities has been no secret.

The governor, who's already leading in most polls by at least 20 points, has said in the weeks leading up to the November election that a surge within the state's Latino population would help give way to a 'very, very, very big win in November.'

Since making that statement at a Paterson 'victory headquarters,' Christie has gone on to campaign for the Latino vote in Union City, as well as Vineland, and so on.

And so it was the nation's first Latina governor - New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez - who appeared with Christie on the campaign trail a day before the November election.

Does the New Mexico governor think Christie is putting a focus on the Latino vote?

'Gov. Christie doesn't see people as Latinos or Anglos, or as African Americans. He sees them as people who are from New Jersey and that they all deserve the same thing. And they all want the same thing, they want to have a good education for their kids [and] they want to be able to have jobs to go to,' Martinez told PolitickerNJ.

'I mean, he doesn't see a difference because he's not a politician. He's a leader,' she said. 'So he crosses those party lines in order to get things done, and you have to do that.'
