
Sheriff's officers respond to Cobb Theaters' Grove 16 & CineBistro in Wesley Chapel, Fla.
Two people were shot when a gunman opened fire in a west Florida movie theater Monday, authorities said.
The shooting occurred at Cobb Theaters' Grove 16 & CineBistro in Wesley Chapel, some 25 minutes north of Tampa, local WTSP-TV reported.

Few details were available, but the suspected shooter was arrested and in police custody, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The shooting occurred inside the theater.

The victims, a man and a woman, were airlifted to a Tampa area hospital, the sheriff's office said.
Information on their conditions was not immediately available.

No other theatergoers were injured, the sheriff's office said.
Police were on the scene, and the theater was closed down and cordoned off by crime scene tape.
Several calls to the theater were met by a busy signal.
