A 15-year-old boy was in police custody after he walked into an Ohio high school with a gun - sparking an intense hour-long standoff with cops as scores of students were trapped inside the building.
The unidentified teen allegedly stepped into a classroom at Scott High School in Toledo about 9:30 a.m., the Toledo Blade reported.
The teen, who was by himself in the room when police arrived, refused to leave the classroom, which ABC News reported was part of a behavioral intervention center.
Scores of students remained trapped in the building as police negotiation teams talked the armed teen into surrendering.
The standoff ended about an hour later, when the teen was taken into custody, police said via their Twitter account.
No injuries were reported.
Hours earlier, a New York school was evacuated for the second time in two weeks after someone called in a bomb threat.
Authorities searched New Rochelle High School after someone called in and told officials to 'get everyone out of the building by 8 a.m.,' CBS News reported.
Emergency workers evacuated the building, which was searched for anything suspicious. The school was later determined to be safe, and students and staff were allowed back inside about 9:30 a.m., the news station reported.
A similar threat was made on Nov. 20, when officials evacuated the building and ended classes for the day. But nothing suspicious was found inside the building and classes resumed the next day.
