A teenager snapped this picture of a boy resembling missing Avonte Oquendo on an E or F subway train Tuesday afternoon.
The search for Avonte Oquendo was reignited after a new photo emerged of a boy resembling the missing teen riding on an E or F line subway, sources said.
A teenager recognized the boy riding the train Tuesday afternoon and walked up to him, asking, 'Hey, are you Avonte?' according to Tony Herbert, president of the Brooklyn East chapter of the National Action Network.
The boy didn't answer, Herbert said, and the inquiring teen snapped a picture before he left the train.
Since 14-year-old Avonte, who has autism and is nonverbal, vanished Oct. 4, cops have received and investigated sporadic reports of possible sightings, to no avail.

After he was shown the new photo, Avonte's father, Daniel Oquendo Sr., said was hesitant to claim the image was his son.
'Yes, it's a close likeness,' he said Wednesday night. 'We need to get a better look to really tell. If we could find the individual who took the picture, that would help big time.'
Another autistic teenager has gone missing in Yonkers. An alert has been issued for 14-year-old Robert Richard, who was last seen on Abeel Street.
Robert may be riding a blue mountain bike and is known to frequent the 231st St. area in the Bronx.
