Paul Walker lived his life in the fast lane and had plans to slow down. He felt his life would end, as he had always known it to be, after his 40th birthday. Walker felt he had missed out on a lot of his younger years because of his acting career. He said after turning 40 he planned to take his life in another direction.
Walker was a success story who had accomplished a lot during short life sentence. He thrived personally, professionally and philanthropically and was now beginning to look towards his second phase of life. In this 'after 40' stage of life he wanted to concentrate on his 15-year-old daughter, shark tagging efforts and ongoing marine research. Walker had big plans for the future and died only a couple months after his milestone birthday.
The Fast and Furious star, who recently became a full time father, was excited about fatherhood. He planned to focus on taking care of his daughter, Meadow; who was the apple of his eye. He was preparing to make adjustments to his career but Meadow didn't want him to stop or slow down; she loved traveling with him around the world.
Walker's co-star Dwayne Johnson, commonly known as 'The Rock,' said the two of them bonded over their fatherhood status. He said Walker knew how important family time was and understood how vital his role was as Meadow's father and wanted to be the best dad he could be.
Walker had plans, after his 40th birthday, to focus more on fatherhood.
Johnson said they first met when they were young in the business; during their late twenties. The Fast and Furious franchise gave them the opportunity to become reacquainted and spend more time together. By this time they were both fathers and bonded over wanting to be great dads to their daughters.
Even though they shared many conversations on a variety of topics, the focus would always return to family. Not just family in the general sense; but family as it relates to the powerful father and daughter relationship.
Walker was also honored by his co-star and 'brother' Vin Diesel with a quote by poet Thomas Campbell, 'To live in the hearts we leave behind, is not to die.' Diesel said Walker was not just a co-star; he considered him family.
Diesel said that he will always love Walker, who he referenced as Brian; his character on Fast and Furious. He said Walker was a brother to him on and off screen.
Walker's love interest, Mia Torreto; played by Jordana Brewster in Fast and Furious, said his loss was heartbreaking. Brewster said Walker had been an enormous presence in her life for the past 14 years. She said he was more than what fans saw in the movies; he was an immensely generous philanthropic.
Brewster said she didn't know anyone who loved life and lived a more full life than Walker; her friend and co-star. She, like many others, said Walker was happiest when speaking about Meadow.
One of the first co-stars to publicly mourn Walker's passing was his friend Tyrese Gibson. Gibson said he was stunned and couldn't believe this was real. He asked God for clarity because he couldn't understand why this happened. Gibson said his heart was completely broken.
Gibson went to the crash site and left a flower where his fallen friend had died. He was photographed publicly mourning over Walker's death. Gibson took a piece of the 'evidence' while visiting the place his friend died; stating he would keep his energy with him forever. He posted a picture on Instagram with a portion of the car remains in his hands and called it ashes of an angel.
Gibson called Walker the heartbeat of the Fast and Furious franchise and said he would see to it that his presence and energy never dies. Gibson said they were not just a family on camera but were a family in real life.
The 40-year-old actor celebrated his milestone birthday with his Fast and Furious family back in September. None of them had a clue that it would be the last one they all shared together.
Walker died in a tragic car accident while attending his organization's charity event. The event was for Reach Out Worldwide, which is a first-aid organization formed in 2010 by Walker. His family has requested that donations be made to his charity in lieu of flowers or other gifts.
Paul Walker had plans to slow down after his 40th birthday. He had lived his life in the fast lane but knew life would change after his 40th birthday. Walker said after turning 40 he planned to take his life in another direction but no one predicted this type of change.
UPDATE:
Although there are multiple theories surrounding the reason for the accident; Paul Walker's autopsy revealed that the actor died from the combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries.
