(NECN: Alison King) - It was a news conference between Elizabeth Warren and Marty Walsh, but instead of talking about her hopes for collaboration with Boston's Mayor-elect in the coming months, the senator found herself answering the question that she's been fending off for weeks.'I am not running for President and I plan to serve out my term,' she said.Warren's name has been repeatedly mentioned in the national media as a possible Democratic presidential candidate, especially if Hillary Clinton decides not to run. Some liberal groups are making it clear they think she is preferable to Clinton, with posters surfacing, such as one saying 'I'm from the Elizabeth Warren wing of the Democratic Party.'If Warren, just in office for one year, is flattered by all the speculation and national headlines, she's not letting on.'This isn't about me. This is about the changes we need to make in America. This is about holding the largest financial institutions in this country accountable. This is about the repairs we need to make to America's crumbling middle class. This is about our values and the changes we need to make and our priorities,' Warren said.Elizabeth Warren seemed happy to get off the topic of a presidential bid as she was asked about the stalemate in Congress.'We now have a part of government that just says, the way that Republicans plan to govern is by saying no. By shutting it down, by not taking votes, by not letting measures move forward,' she says.Warren used immigration reform as an example saying the U.S. Senate passed it by a substantial margin but that the House of Representatives wouldn't vote on it. As for Marty Walsh, he couldn't resist a little jab at Warren on the presidential banter, saying, 'When we met today, I thought I was going to be asked to be the running mate.'
