EINDHOVEN, Netherlands - Dutch investigators say that the voice recorder from the Malaysia Airlines plane shot down over Ukraine was damaged but not manipulated, and its data is still intact.

Dutch investigators handed two so-called black box flight recorders to a lab in southern England on Wednesday.

The Dutch Safety Board says in a statement that a team examined the voice recorder and it was 'damaged but the memory module was intact.' It says no sign of manipulation of the recorder was found.

It says the information on the recorder will now be studied. Investigators will start Thursday studying the other recorder, containing flight data.

The flight was shot down in eastern Ukraine on Thursday, killing all 298 people aboard.
