The airline service drove her nuts.

A Korean Air executive resigned Tuesday after she threw a hissy fit over her airline nuts Friday.

Heather Cho - the airline's vice-president for cabin service - demanded her New York-to-Incheon flight be turned around and ordered a flight attendant off the plane because she was served nuts in a bag.

Apparently, she wanted her macadamias on a plate.

The plane had not yet taken off from John F. Kennedy International airport when it was forced to taxi back to the gate at Cho's demand. The head of the cabin crew - who apparently broke airline protocol by serving nuts in bags to first-class passengers - then exited the jet.

The flight departed 20 minutes late but ultimately made it to South Korea safely.

Korean Air Lines apologized for the inconvenience, and Cho stepped down Tuesday, CNN reported. While Cho is the head of the company's cabin service, she was flying Friday as a passenger and was not on-the-job.

Cho is also the oldest daughter of Korean Air's chairman, Cho Yang-ho.

Korean Air Lines Co. said Tuesday it was 'natural' for Cho to fault crew's ignorance of procedures, such as serving nuts on plates in the first class.

'We will re-educate all our employees to make sure service within the plane meets high standards,' the airline said in a statement.

South Korea's government said it is investigating whether Cho violated aviation safety law.
