A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 9 p.m. as yet another round of accumulating snow is expected to move across the region today.


Snow is expected to start in the western suburbs this morning and move east into downtown Chicago by late morning.


The heaviest snowfall is expected this afternoon with the potential of seeing snowfall rates of 2-3 inches per hour.


By the time the storm moves out this evening a fresh blanket of 5-8 inches of may be on the ground.


Skies will clear tonight as temperatures dip into the upper teens.


Breezy west winds and a decent amount of sunshine will help boost temperatures into the upper 30s Tuesday.
