Charity Johnson, 34, was in the Gregg County Jail Thursday afternoon charged with failure to identify and giving false or fictitious information to police after authorities say she posed as a teenager to enroll as a sophomore at a private high school.

Johnson was arrested after telling officers she was 'Charite Stevens,' Longview police said.

The principal at New Life Christian School in Longview says Johnson enrolled in October with a guardian, and filled out paperwork indicating she was 15, KLTV in Tyler reported.

School officials discovered Tuesday her ID was fake.

Police say she's 34, although jail records list her as 31.
