At least three people were killed and one injured Sunday when a shooter opened fire on a Jewish community center and retirement home in suburban Kansas City.
Overland Park, Kan., police were questioning a suspect after the incident, which occurred at about 1 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center complex in Overland Park and Village Shalom, a retirement home located nearby.
Police arrested a suspect at an elementary school in the area. The suspect reportedly yelled out, 'Heil Hitler!' as he was led away by police.
Police flooded the residential neighborhood after the shootings and locked down the community center and retirement home, located about 11 miles south of Kansas City.
The gunfire on the west side of the Jewish Community Center erupted as hundreds of high school singers from across the metro area were readying to audition for the KC SuperStar contest and actors were rehearsing for a production of To Kill a Mockingbird, according to the Kansas City Star.
