'Waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists,' according to the Gospel of Sarah Palin.

The former Alaska governor and queen of the one-liners blasted 'clownish little kumbaya-humming, fairytale-inhaling liberals' in the Obama administration for being weak defenders of national security and the constitutional right to bear arms at the National Rifle Association annual meeting.

Dressed in jeans, Palin rallied the troops at Saturday's gathering in Indianapolis, blaming 'intolerant, anti-freedom, leftist liberals' in Washington and Hollywood for hypocrisy as they try to limit access to guns while enjoying the protection of armed security guards.

'Our children are protected by a thin, tin sign that reads 'gun-free zone.' Yeah, like that will stop the bad guys. That is stupid on steroids,' she remarked in amazement during her 12-minute speech.

Calling on politicians to put 'the fear of God in our enemies,' she promised the cheering crowd, 'if I were in charge, they would know that waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists.'

The outspoken Tea Party darling also praised 'patriots' in the gun lobby for their new ad attacking ex New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

'This guy thinks he can scare us into running from a fight to protect our rights,' the ad declares, urging supporters to join the group with a $25 annual membership fee.

'He's one guy with millions. We're millions with our 25 bucks. Let's see who crushes who.'

Palin, 50, was spending the week in the Midwest helping conservatives in the lead up to the midterm elections.

On Friday she joined Sens. Ted Cruz and Mike Lee at a rally supporting Nebraska Senate Candidate Ben Sasse.

After her Indiana stop at the NRA, she traveled to Iowa on Sunday to campaign for Joni Ernst, who is running for Senate in the Hawkeye State.
