Former Patriots receiver Wes Welker was suspended four games by the NFL for violating its performance-enhancing drug policy, according to an ESPN report.
Welker, now with the Denver Broncos, tested positive for amphetamines, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.
Welker was sidelined for the final weeks of the preseason with a concussion suffered Aug. 23 vs. the Texans. He returned to practice on Monday.
