Emergency crews responded to a major crash involving three vehicles and life-threatening injuries on I-95 in Norwood, Massachusetts Friday afternoon.
Massachusetts State Police says the crash happened on I-95 southbound at Exit 11A/B at Neponset Street. Southbound lanes were closed for several hours.
State Police say four people were taken to the hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries. One person was killed.
Police say a Range Rover that was traveling northbound crossed the grass median and struck a Toyota Camry head on.
A 59-year-old Rhode Island woman, who was driving the Camry, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two additional occupants in the vehicle, a 28-year-old man and a 62-year-old man, both sustained serious injuries.
The Range Rover then hit a Ford Edge before coming to a stop. The driver and passenger sustained serious injuries.
