At least 10 ambulances were called to the scene of a shooting incident that has injured multiple people, including a seriously injured young child, with reports of 10 people shot, authorities said.
An Emergency Medical Services Plan 2 was called for the incident in the 1800 block of West 51st Street after emergency crews were called to the scene, according to the Chicago Fire Department's media office. There were reports of 10 people shot, according to the Fire Department. The attack took place about about 10:15 p.m.
One of the people shot was a young child, perhaps a 3-year-old, a source said, citing preliminary information.
