Apple is investigating a violation of celebrities' privacy that resulted in leaked naked photos of actress Jennifer Lawrence and soccer star Hope Solo, according to Gizmodo.
Apple officials said they had no involvement in the breach, which compromised iCloud servers.
'We wanted to provide an update to our investigation into the theft of photos of certain celebrities,' the technology company said in a statement. 'When we learned of the theft, we were outraged and immediately mobilized Apple's engineers to discover the source.
'Our customers' privacy and security are of utmost importance to us,' it added.

The photos, some of which were real and others which could have been fake, were lifted from the iCloud accounts of the celebs and posted to an image-sharing website. The photos soon spread to social media sites like Twitter and Reddit.
Apple said the celebrity accounts were hacked by a 'very targeted attack on user names, passwords and security questions, a practice that has become all too common on the Internet.'
The embarrassing breach comes as Apple gears up to unveil the eighth generation of the wildly popular iPhone on Sept. 9.
