A pilot died Friday morning when his private plane crashed just minutes after taking off from Westchester County Airport, officials said.
Nobody else was aboard the small plane, and no injuries were reported on the ground, officials said.
The single-engine plane struck trees southwest of the White Plains airport just after its 8:08 a.m. takeoff, officials said, and crashed on Cottage St. just outside the SUNY Purchase campus.
